Hello there,

time for a new journal entry. Making it short: I am finally able to work properly with the Madefire motionbook tool, since during it's beta phase it had too many bugs.
However, there are some minor issues (text layers fail to upload on my end), but overall my tests work well.

So what is it you can expect to see from my projects? Here is the answer:

Personal projects are:

- Motionbook tutorials and development books: These explain how I create my concepts, ideas and to share my thoughts as to why I chose a certain design, how my characters, places, objects, etc. work as well as showing steps of my work processes. A few tests with images only are already uploaded.
Soon I will upload the first test including textboxes (converting text to images is the solution for me) to give you more input that images only cannot provide. I am very excited to start my first development-motionbook from scratch. For each test I am doing so far, I am reusing an older work (otherwise it would eat up too much time for testing).

I hope you will like these tutorials and development books.

- Written stories: Besides my Forlorn Knights story I have a few smaller projects I am able to upload via Madefire as well. Imagine that you don't feel like a chunk of text is hitting you straight to the face, but textboxes and an easier way to keep track of events being blended in to make it easier for you to enjoy a story.
These smaller projects are not as huge as my mainproject Forlorn Knights and therefore can work as a small series that will hopefully entertain you. The first smaller project I will work at is named "Demise". A story about an ordinary guy joining a part time job as night watch in a large shopping mall, who will soon realize that something weird is going on. Yet this story needs to get a final touch up (naming characters and planning the amount of episodes) but I might manage to squeeze it into my schedule somehow.

The Forlorn Knights Beta (with text only) will be uploaded via Madefire as well before every chapter gets illustrations and proper visuals to become the final product. Forlorn Knights will need some more time though, as I am developing the overall plot at the moment (which will be explained in the development-books without majorspoilers).

With my upcoming development and tutorial motionbooks I want to make Forlorn Knights being interesting enough (as you will know what stuff you can expect to see, and maybe you will be able to find a favourited character which can be a hero, or a villain, or multiple characters, and so on) for you to read at least one chapter when the Beta is finally done.
If I would keep the whole development hidden from you, you wouldn't have any idea about it. In any case it might be helpful to see how a story, characters, environments and the worldbuilding itself can be done. Maybe it will help you to get an idea as to how you can approach the development of your ideas.

With the next motionbook test you will see an example of my idea, featuring the fourth Elderdragon of my own world brollonks.deviantart.com/art/T… and a few thoughts as to how I worked at the image.

When I create the first development and tutorial-motionbook from scratch, it will be about Forlorn Knights. I think that it will become a kind of "series" where you will be able to follow the whole development seperated in multiple motionbooks. I might start with the environment and places, already including characters. I am (and I hope it doesn't seem arrogant, it isn't meant that way) a huge fan of my Grotesque Knights and the mainstory behind everything. I will, of course, avoid spoilers. But you will learn a lot about what will show up in my story and how, as well as why, I chose things to be the way they are.

I am very happy about the Madefire tool being available and working well, as I can finally share my development with you in a more entertaining way. Of course you will see artwork as being ordinary images as well, and how I got to my result will be explained in my "development series" for you to be inspired.

I wish you a great day and I hope you had a great time so far.

One more thing that might concern you when it's about motionbooks: You might ask yourself if I will start making them available only for money. My answer is: My Forlorn Knights story, shorter projects, motionbook tutorials and the "development series" will be for free.
The only thing I will continue to do is to upload "supporter's brushsets" via premium content, considering it being a reward for everyone who is willing to support me on my path. But don't worry, the regular brushsets will stay free (and new ones are about to come).

And I try to give you small examples of a supporter's brushset as soon as new ones will be uploaded. It means that you can test 2 or 3 brushes in a small set for free and receive additional brushes for your support. I won't upload samples of my already uploaded (the only one so far) supporter's brushset (the camelhair brushes), otherwise it would be unfair for those who purchased them (I thank all of you who did for your support so far).

We'll see how things turn out in the near future. :D I am positive that it will work as planned.

Many greetings,

:iconbrollonks:

Phew! Just read this journal and the previous one. Finally found a job so I'm a bit delayed >_>
Anyways! *spazzes* Huzzah! Can't wait to read the motion books! Always enjoyed seeing and reading your grotesque knights<3
and I am certainly looking forward to the development tutorials. Been crashing quite a bit. Then again summer tends to kill my productivity xD  Ah but that is a silly excuse.
Many lucky stars on your motion books. Oh! and the Demise project peaked my interest too!
